Limited-Stay Visas are given to regular passport holders. This visa is valid for a one (1)-year stay within Indonesia and must not expire beyond the validity period of the applicant's travel documents. Limited-Stay Visas are only Single-Entry. What if the Limited-Stay Visa holder plans to exit and re-enter Indonesia multiple times? After the visa holder arrives in Indonesia, they should apply for a KIMS/KITAS (a temporary stay permit issued by Indonesian immigration authorities) and a re-entry permit (to travel outside and re-enter Indonesia) at the nearest Indonesian immigration office. Usually, the sponsor in Indonesia has arranged all necessary permits, so they should know how to obtain a KIMS/KITAS and re-entry permit from the local immigration office.
The Indonesian Embassy/Consulate cannot issue any Limited-Stay Visa without official notification of approval from Immigration. The visa applicant's sponsor in Indonesia should apply for it through the nearest immigration office. If granted, that office will notify the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate.
Please inform the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate about the intention to enter and stay within restricted regions (Aceh, Maluku, and Irian Jaya), which requires special authorization from Indonesian authorities.
