Environmental groups attack World Bank for endorsing plantation plan

JAKARTA (AP): Environmental groups lashed out at a new World Bank report on Indonesia's forests Wednesday, saying it is an endorsement of a government plan to create vast timber plantations that would damage local ecosystems and livelihoods.

Research Visa applicants must contact the Bureau for Cooperation and Promotion of Science and Technology [phone: +011 (62-021) 525-1542 or 522-5711; fax: +011 (62-021) 526-5457 or 522-5640] at the Indonesian Institute of Science (LIPI). The applicant should write a letter that provides all details of the research. The Bureau will assist the applicant in the visa application process; please ask them for details. The Indonesian Embassy/Consulate cannot issue any Research Visa without official notification of approval from Immigration and LIPI.
