Journalist Visas are only Single-Entry. Please inform the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate about any intention to visit restricted regions (Aceh, Maluku, and Irian Jaya), which requires special authorization from Indonesian authorities. The standard Journalist Visa will not cover these restricted regions. Separate applications must be submitted; please contact us at 1 212 879 0600 for additional information.
Journalist Visa applicants must contact the Information Division at the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate before continuing with the following procedures:
Submit a letter to the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate, with attention to the Consul for Information and Cultural Affairs, stating: Attach photocopies of all passports of crew members. After the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate faxes Jakarta about the application, adding its evaluation and comments, wait approximately one (1) month for approval. When approval is granted, appear at the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate for about one hour to personally fill out the visa application, as well as submit the following items: The original passport with at least six (6) months of validity from the date of submission Two (2) recent color photographs (passport-size) on picture-quality paper. Please note that three (3) additional photos will be needed for identification purposes in Jakarta. US$60 fee in cash or money order (payable to the Indonesian Consulate)
