Environmental groups attack World Bank for endorsing plantation plan

JAKARTA (AP): Environmental groups lashed out at a new World Bank report on Indonesia's forests Wednesday, saying it is an endorsement of a government plan to create vast timber plantations that would damage local ecosystems and livelihoods.

Visitation Visas PDF Print

Visitation Visas are given to regular passport holders. The process is usually completed within two business days; it may take longer for citizens from certain countries due to background checks, as well as applicants who wish to enter restricted regions. Non-US citizens who hold certain US visas may not be processed at any Indonesian embassy/consulate within the United States; please contact us at 1 212 879 0600 for additional information.


General requirements to apply for Visitation Visas include submitting the following items:

 The application form (in duplicate) which has been completed and signed by the applicant

  • The original passport with at least six (6) months of validity from the date of submission:
    • The passport must also be valid for at least six (6) months from the date of entry into Indonesia. A Multiple-Entry visa requires the passport to be valid for at least one (1) year from the date of first entry.
    • The passport must contain at least one (1) blank visa page. Amendment and endorsement pages cannot be used for visa purposes.
  • Two (2) recent color photographs (passport-size) on picture-quality paper


Visa applications by mail should also enclose a self-stamped and -addressed envelope for Express Mail or FedEx.

Inoculation is recommended but not mandatory. It is required only if the applicant had previously traveled to areas that were infected by yellow fever.

Applicants under 18 years of age should attach a notarized copy of their birth certificate, as well as a notarized letter of consent signed by the non-traveling parents/guardians.
